Patrick Hirsch is a PhD candidate with a master’s degree in economics and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He studied at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg and at the Handelshögskolan Göteborg, Sweden. He completed internships in central banking in Frankfurt and currently works as a research associate at the Walter Eucken Institute. He is also a research and teaching assistant at the Chair of Economic Policy and Constitutional Economics at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and lectures at the Institute for the International Education of Students in Freiburg (IES) and the Freiburg University of Education.
His research interests relate to monetary policy, in particular with regard to the European Monetary Union. He uses various methods of empirical economics as well as New Keynesian DSGE models.
