Max Molden studied Philosophy and Economics at the University of Bayreuth and Political Economy at King’s College London. He wrote his dissertation on the legitimacy of government interventions at the Institute of Philosophy at the University of Hamburg under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rolf W. Puster.

During his doctoral studies, he held a doctoral scholarship from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and was a Carl Menger Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. He has held various positions at Prometheus (Berlin) since 2023. Since September 2026, he has been a postdoctoral research associate at the Walter Eucken Institute, where he is working on the publication of two volumes in the series “Vordenker der liberalen Moderne” (Pioneers of Liberal Modernity).

His main research interests lie in the fields of political philosophy as well as the theory of interventionism and regulation. His research is fundamentally grounded in the philosophy of action and subjectivism.
